Best known place in France is BIARITZ. A lot of places along the atlantic
coast are good. Buth October is already rather cold.

Biarritz on the atlantic coast is well known for surfing. As a windsurfer I
really wouldn't go there. In october, conditions in Southern France are great
and really not cold. The Bretagne, NW of France, has wind and big waves, but
it's colder. Go for the south, you won't regret it.
Look at the messages concerning Hyres, France, there are some nice internet
adresses with infos on these spots.
