On Saturday, April 13 a group of local paddlers are holding
a fundraiser for Olympic hopeful Jason Beakes.  Beakes is a member
of the U.S. National Team and a young star on the slalom and rodeo
circuit.

The event is being held at The Crow Bar, which is located at
1006 20th Street NW (20th & K) from 7:30 - 10:30 PM.  Tickets
can be purchased for $15 at the door or by mail prior to the
event.  Drinks and appetizers are included in the price of
admission.

Finally, a silent auction that includes donated kayaks, paddles,
equipment, excursions, and lessons will go on through the evening.
This is all brand new state-of-the-art equipment and is reason
enough to come to the party and make your best offer!

Your $15 cover charge goes toward Jason's continued training and
travel expenses.  This could make the difference and allow him to
represent the USA in Atlanta this Summer.  Last year, we raised over
$1,000 for Jason and helped to fund his Winter training in Costa
Rica.

Also, on a personal note, I picked up a Savage Scorpion kayak at
the silent auction for a GREAT price!

donation.  Send email to this address or call Eric Moss at (202)
