hey i have a 4.2 nr 97 model, and it is a superb sail and very durable, but if
you manage to hit the sail on a seam you may rip it , as happened to me this
summer in vassiliki. a pryde tech rep once told me that you could have the
worst slam dunks into a sail and never go through it, but hit the sail on a
seam and you could rip it as it's the weekest part of the sail, that goes for
all sails.

My 96 5.3 NR's still going strong - survived my terrible sailing in
Maui... and bump 'n jump here in Melbourne.  My favorite sail.

I don't know what the 97 is like but my 95 4.5m is a little fragile. I've
blown the leech a couple of times from excessive fluttering in strong
winds and put the flip tip of my board through the sail, although that's
hardly the sail's fault. On the positive side, battens and stiching seem
pretty indestructable.

It seems to have the best range of my aging collection of wave sails.

Simon,
Enjoying an El Nino summer in NZ
