Could you guys settle your little hissy fit somewhere else, cuz it is
really annoying, and as far as I can tell, completely pointless.  As funny
as your balls-out rad and bad attitude is, talk like that reminds me why I
like to sail uncrowded places that are free of egos.

p.s.: To the guy who was insulting the other dudes brainpower, "teach"
isn't spelled "tech", kinda takes away from the "I'm smarter than you
arguement" when you mis-spell the word teach.

Misspell is not hyphenated.  Neither is "***retentive" unless it is
used as an adjective.  Note the following example.
I'm so anal-retentive I know when ***retentive should be hyphenated.

RE:" don't use spell check don't want to especially when boozed up"

If *** is this important to this guy, his spelling, grammar, punctuation,
syntax, content, format, attitude, ego (i.e., lack thereof), and sailing
ability (i.e., lack thereof) are the LEAST of his problems. The two times he
has logged on sober -- once last week, once several months ago -- he was
contrite and coherent. i.e., He CAN function during his rare sober moments, but
prefers not to. That's his choice, but it's also our choice whether to ignore
or read or respond to his stuff. The least sensible option is getting angry at
him. Unlike a drunk at a party, a drunk on the 'net is very easy to ignore.
After all, it takes a positive action on our part -- a keystroke -- to even see
his stuff. If ya don't like his blather, don't stroke his key.

But it is a lot like driving by a head-on collision, isn't it? It's tough not
to at least steal a glance at the carnage as we drive by.

It's posts like these that make me want to click when I see "NLWTFW " just to
see what you have to say, even if the topic does not interest me. Keep it up

There are so many geeks who windsurf.   That's why when one someone tells the
average person that they windsurf,  the other person doesn't say much.  When
you say you surf, people say "cool" , "wow".... stuff like that.  That's
because in general surfers have been around for so much longer than
windsurfers.  They have developed an image and style.  They fit into
something.  They have it in their sole.
Windsurfing on the other hand has no appeal of the such.  Reason one is
because the same people who say things here, also sail,  they are mostly
geeks, computer and techo nerds.  People don't get the same vibes off the
windsurfer as the surfer.  Most people know that a lot of windsurfers have no
purpose in life and are ego maniacs. They think they are tuff and big ect.
There are exceptions, as some of us know.  You guys need to get it together.
What is a windsurfer?    Coming here tells me that most of you are ego freaks
and I don't want anything to do with your kind.  Why dont you find a good
nitch and stay with it.
Doubt i'll see y'all on the water. I sail my own local spots. Like Bird
Island.... Ya right!

Peace,

Jason

Jason is like *** - once you start replying, you just can't stop.

My favorite thing about the Jason posts is the length of them.  You can tell
that he is really trying, working to make some kind of point come across.

It is obviously a struggle for Mr. Jason  to gather his thought,  transmit to
hands, type and send it, but by god he is trying hard, and it seems rather
un-friendly of some of you to harp on his grammer and spelling.  Give Jason a
break!.

See... you're still a total moron.  Sounds like you're still in high school
with all your image worries.   Who cares if some guy on the newsgroup is a
geek?  You're basically saying this guy had enough sense to become smart and
make money.  He can afford to buy the finer things in life, and couldn't give a
rat's ass about surfing.  You can't hang or relate to his comments, so you have
resorted to calling him names.

Obviously you're into surfing for the image.  I'm sure you just love how all
those high school chicks eyeball your board on your Bronco.  Give me a break
flame-boy,  you never hear about anyone in this group with such an attitude,
because imho, no one gives a *** about style and image windsurfing creates.
We'll let punk asses like yourself *** or sing about it.

Yeah, in your younger years you spent your time*** with the boys, surfing,
windsurfing, drinking and smoking pot.  Big deal.  Many guys in here did the
same thing dork, but along the way we were smart enough to get an education,
something that you obviously bypassed.  So if I'm a geek for that, fine I'll
take it.

Jason you have alot of frustrations builtup.  Instead of posting this newsgroup
with your dumbass comments, how about getting tanked up on your cheap beer,
spend some time in one of those *** websites, get yourself a family-size
bottle of hand lotion, and make all your dreams come true.  Come back later all
refreshed with a better attitude, but until then  -  shut up.  If you don't
believe how stupid you sound, read over all your comments.  Your dumb, man,
real dumb.

Don't all of you think it's time you stopped using this board for fighting
amongst yourselves? If you don't like a person's grammar or spelling, can't you
be mature and just ignore these errors?

All of this name calling is not what out sport is about. We should be using
this site for intelligent discourse, ie. education, information, informed
discussions. If someone is not using it for such, ignoring the posts will make
the person stop writing them. Or, a request sent to the person via his or her
personal e-mail is the way to go. Then you have have your arguments and name
calling between yourselves, where it belongs.

Of course you are right; but what's Usenet without an occasional
flamefest? And look at the Subject line. What are the chances anyone is
following this thread in the hope of learning something useful about the
sport (other than maybe a thing or two about the diversity of its
participants). If this was cluttering up a discussion about sail size or
some new board design, I'd weigh in with you. But it's not, and anyone
who wants to kill the thread or simply ignore it can do so. This is like
the comics section of a newspaper. It's pretty hard to confuse with the
front page.

Just another point of view.
