by On Sunday Feb 22 (this Sunday), Ice Flyer will be featured on the
Science Fiction channel program 'The New Edge'. Times are 1pm, 12am EST,
10am, 9pm PST and in-between that for other time zones (check local
listing).
Havnt seen the show yet, but the film crew interviewed a bunch of Denver
area windsurfers, got footage of both stand-up ice sailors and the Ice
Flyer (rear sail mounted sit-down). There will also likely be a some
footage of the day last Nov. when the Ice Flyer was clocked at 64 mph.
The producer thought the segment turned out very well - fast moving!
By the way, the 64 mph speed was set using an off the shelf 1993 (5 year
old) single cam 4.6 m**2 Windwing sail with an old North Spacetech mast
of the same vintage. Old stuff is still fast....
