Southeast US sailing sites near general aviation airports - wavesailing

We've been looking for new good wavesailing sites near GA fields,
especially warmer venues as Hatteras chills down. Enjoyed sailing Ponce
Inlet (Daytona/New Smyrna) during Gordon and would welcome opinions about
breaks, availability of rental cars, 4wd access, and local sailing
population of other sites. Is anyone sailing Jekyl or St. Simon's
Islands?

Hatteras access is fair from Manteo but rental cars are very iffy at
Billy Mitchell in Buxton (near the best wave sites.)

(I've tried to attach a file with all this drivel already typed but the
likelihood of a successful transfer is minimal so I'll continue)

Carolina Beach near ILM has good NE waves as does Corncake/Baldhead
Island in SW blows. Fran blew away much of the south point and access has
not been restored. Overflight shows new channels through the very
narrowed spit that was once a lovely launch. We may have lost that very
nice SW site til a new storm rearranges the coast.

Any interest in trying a few fly-in wavesailing camps especially in the
southeast?

i have an old ('77) jeep wagoneer (4wd) for sale, it makes a great
airport/windsurfing vehicle.  interested in setting up a timeshare? ;)

The more popular places for people who make the trip to that area tend to
be Tybee off of Savannah and Sullivan's Island near Charleston. Also check
out Jacksonville area - Huguenot Park. All have easy access to both waves
and flat water.
