New Windsurfing Video/ Video Evidence

Post by jace.. » Wed, 08 Feb 2006 19:42:14

Aloha from Maui,

Just wanted to post a link to some new windsurfing videos being
released.

First is my Video Evidence DVD which started as a monthly party here on
the North Shore of Maui.  The DVD is just under 50 minutes long and
shows some of the best moments at Jaws, Pipe, Honolua, Bonaire, NY, and
others.  Video Evidence is a multi sport DVD but has a heavy dose of
windsurfing.  Check out the trailer at www.windyplanet.net

Also, I've been working with Johny DeCesare of Poor Boyz Productions
(winner of Powder Magazine's Film of the Year honars for WAR) on a new
movie called "The Windsurfing Movie" .  I know that sounds a bit
arrogant but with the cast of characters (Robby Naish, Jason Polakow,
Kai Lenny, Levi Siver) and it being shot on 16 MM film this will be the
best windsurfing movie ever made. I know everyone on Rec.Windsurfing
are windsurfing fanatics so go check out www.poorboyzwindsurfing.com
and see the trailer--its amazing.

Hope you like it.

Aloha,

Jace Panebianco

Hey Jace, how about fixing the site for the "windsurfing movie".  Some
of us have trouble viewing the trailer with all that fancy flash
animation stuff.  An mpeg would be nice.  Also, when I sent an email
about this using the contact info on that site, it bounced.

DISCLAIMER: Music is like food - not everyone likes the same thing.

Nice video, but that's the worst music I've heard in a long time.
Also, not everyone is on broadband, so I would note on the site that
this is a 17MB movie, which requires QuickTime. Flash or Real Player
would stream, check out some of WARDOG's vids.

Wardog,

The plan is for The Windsurfing Movie to be released in theaters... Its
being produced by Studio 411, the same people that did Riding Giants
and others.  We're shooting it on 16mm for that reason, the goal is to
see it on the big screen.

We leave for Punta Preta, Cabo Verde at the end of the month...  Jaws
went off on Super Bowl sunday and the boys were ripping.  We'll update
the website with more clips and pixs.

Regarding the flash and broadband, I'll pass that comment along to the
website guys.  Although I would suggest getting highspeed if possible,
life is too short to wait for dialup.

The Jalama pictures look great, go get a burger for me will ya!

Aloha,

Jace

Hi Jace,
AWESOME!!!
Can't wait to see it on the BEEEEG screen...good luck...make it happen...:-)

I heard about the Sunday swell...we're starting to get it now...

SURF: 18-20 ft. - 4 times overhead' occ 35 ft.' good...

Mav's contest is on...50' faces a few days ago...

*** is showing sunny skies with helicopters and wetbikes galore...

You're preaching to the choir about broadband...dialup is like being on
the information superhighway in a rickshaw...can't slow down anymore for
lowest common denominator...

Flash is another issue...

Highspeed is not the only problem.  I'm sitting on a 6megabit cable
modem and it still stutters when I try to play it.   If you upload an
MPEG, people can download it and play it.  If they have a slow
connectiong, they can download it ovenight if they wish.

Looking forward to seeing it!
