Hey group, where is everyone.
I sailed all day yesterday, 40-45 deg. air/52 deg. water/ 12-20 mph wind.
Really cookin' on a 277 Ride/7.0 IQ3D. Spent a while in 18+ ona 6.2
Convertigo. Hooded T shirt/4-3 Oneill wetsuit/3mm Oneill Split toes/
DaKine Coldwater mitts. I only got cold when derigging as the wind shill
went down to about 28 F.

Today was 45-50 deg air/52 deg. water/ 12-22 mph wind.
Did the 277 Ride/7.0 IQ3D for about an hour, Wow that new Viper mast
is responsive, and lite. I like it alot!
Then I tried out a new North Camless 6.0 Sting for a couple of hours. What
a nice lite responsive and quite  fast little sail. I'm going to have to
look for  a 460 Viper to go in the Sting, as then I will most certianly
have the lightest rig on the water.
The Sting was well powered up, trimmed to between the med.-max. VTS trim
dots, about neutral outhaul. No it doesn't go upwind quite as well as he
IQ3D, but since we've all decided that we're going upwind on the fin now,
it really didn't make too much difference. I wish I'd had the Speedmate on
as I was probably  doing in the 30-35mph in 20 mph wind speed.
One guy came by and wanted to know if I was too overpowered on the 6.0, but
I told him I was really enjoying the setup just as it was. 12.0" G-10
Rainbow Duffy Race fin, 277 Ride with everything all the way back (ie
straps, mast foot, etc) 6.0 Sting No Cam sail. Very fast, but very
comfortable sailing!
Come on down, the waters fine, no ones here but me and I get lonely using
up all that wind while the rest of you use bandwidth.

It's nice to hear someone else got some wind today (Sunday) This was the first
time I got my fullsuit wet this year.  I was overpowered on a 4.5 at Sullivan's
Island (Outside of Charleston) , most people were on 3.9's and 3.5's.  Guys who
usually sailed in the waves were sailing inside the bar.
Wind has been so scarce we were all out of shape, just about everyone quit
by 4:30 but all the usual suspects turned up.

As for gear snobs, the best sailors here are on well-broken in gear, not
state-of-the ark but certainly not hot off the shelf.  Time on the water seems
to rule over new gear.

"Love the dolphins," she advised him. "Write by W.A.S.T.E.."
