Hood River - Lessons - Recommendations?

Hey Guys,

I'm looking for a good windsurfing school in the Gorge for my wife.
She is a complete beginner and I want to get her started right.  Last
summer, some of my co-workers took beginner lessons at Hood River
Waterplay.  I also took a private lesson from them.  All of us were a
little disappointed with our instructors. It was a windy day and they
all seemed more interested in having fun than in actual instructing.

When I was learning to waterstart at the Hook, it looked like Brian's
had a pretty good setup with multiple instructors in the water.  Your
recommendations are greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

Derek

ABK has opened a camp up there.  Best instruction by a great bunch of
folks.  It's more than worth the money.  Have big fun......Leon

Agree about the comment with Hood River Waterplay.  I took a lesson
from them a couple years back and all the guy did was sail!  It was
bullshoot......

Hood River - Lessons - Recommendations?

The camp sounds interesting, but it doesn't come to HR until end of
August.  Would really like to get her started immediately.  Might have
to check that out as well.

Any feedback on Brian's?  Or Bigwinds?  Or any other suggestions?

I did a search on this forum and the Rhonda Smith school got a lot of
great reviews.  However, I think she sold the school to Hood River
Waterplay.

Derek,

ABK should have regular instructors in HR right now.

I went to ABK clinic a couple of months ago and I liked it quite a bit.

Nikita.

Ben and Pete Dekay from ABK are set up at the Hook all through the
summer.  I highly recommend it.

Cool.  Thanks for the suggestions guys.  We'll check out ABK this
weekend.  I'll post a review when she's done with her lesson.
