I thought it was great. I never saw nor heard of any problems
with thieves. The people in El Yaque are about the friendliest
anywhere. It may be different in the city of Porlamar but who
want to go there anyway. You will probably want to stay in El
Yaque which will keep you walking distance from your sailing
site. I also recommend Sharks as a rental site. $200 per week
Canadian and the staff there is great. It's also the most
windward spot on the beach. That's a plus because it can get
pretty crowded downwind. Go. You'll never regret it. E-mail me
for my trip report if you need information on travel, lodging,
Glenn Woodell - Windsurfing the lower Chesapeake Bay, Hatteras,
and anywhere else my surfmobile or my credit cards lead me.
