Ray wrote a letter to the editor (December issue of the new England sailboard
journal) about my previous article "boys in blue nab windsurfer"
although this article was a true story it was not meant to be
taken serious.  I wrote it in a way I felt was clear.
it was only a good read,  a light hearted attempt at humor
I would like to personally write ray
I feel bad that he has such low regard for my writing
I was wondering if others out there feel the same way about my style
because if they do Ill stop writting
and one more thing

In response to the article by Mr. Lynnworth:

I was at the scene when Keith was first confronted by the police
officers and of course had my camera with me....  Anyway, without
getting into the details, he did as was instructed by the first
officer and left the beach.  The second officer's actions could
be considered bordering harrassment.  Keith now faces trespassing
charges which you may not realize is a criminal offense, so his
using a lawyer is only natural.  I, like Keith, have hair that is
below my collar so I must contend with those who prejudge and
assume that I am a troublemaker.  His first incident with the
sailskating ticket (no photos available) was the result of a
snooty beach resident who related anyone with hair below the
collar to be a part of the jet ski group, which has been a
problem in this area, and called police.  I know of no one at the
beach who has ever had a problem with him.  And your reference to
his crack use is quite slanderous.  I don't believe you know him
well enough to make a comment like that.

I don't want to use this as the beginning of a mud slinging
contest but I will support my friends and I will support the New
England Windsurfing Journal for printing Keith's original
article.  His article was truthful but written lightly as Keith
always does.  His writing has brought a chuckle to me everytime I
have read it.  He meant no disrespect to the officers and I'm
sure NEWJ means no disrespect either.  I might suggest that if
you want polished, sunday morning reading, you stick to
Windsurfing Magazine.

Well I felt that Ray was taking it all a bit too seriously.  Sounds like
he has something else going on that caused him to react in such a way.  I
think that most people realized that it was just a humorous piece about the
boys in blue.  But I have to admit I share your feelings in that there is
certainly a lot of real CRIME out there like people shooting each other,
dealing ***,***, etc...  and I think stopping people from Windsurfing and
traffic fines as well, are a waste of tax payer dollars.  Time could be better
spent pursuing the REAL crimes.

BTW, what ever happened afterwards?  In court?  Did they ever give you a
real reason as to why they were closing the beach or were they just playing
tough guys...  :)
