With all the rumors flying around about who bought who, here's some good
material for starting a long thread. I was asked by Mistral to post this
press release to the newsgroup so that we could get the official story.
My only relationship to Mistral is that I built their Web Site for them,
so don't send me email asking for more details; I don't know anymore
than what it says below. I may add a News section to the Web Site and
stick an html version there in the next day or so
(http://www.sccsi.com/Mistral/mistral_welcome.html). Without further ado:

In further efforts to expand Mistral branded windsurfing products,
Mistral Sports Group SA also announced plans to purchase back the
marketing and distribution rights of Mistral windsurfing hardgoods from

the Fritzmeier company will continue to manufacture the windsurfing

Mistral under the proposed move.
"This move is a result of Mistral's efforts to build the brand name
worldwide around its core business which is windsurfing" commented Mr.
Ramelsberger. "Without question, the reintegration of Mistral along
with the consolidation of North Sails will establish a strong alliance
which will rejuvinate the sport of windsurfing."
