Learning on land

Learning on land

A few of us in Nova Scotia would like to teach windsurfing to some of our
friends and wives. However, I don't think they want to take the route I've
taken. When I told my wife my tan was starting early this year, she pointed
out that my legs are only darker because the bruises are starting to blend
together. I think tenacity was the only thing that got me through the first 2
months of learning.

I would like to find out what some of the instructors (spike?) do for dry land
training before taking anyone out on the water. I work at a community college
and may be able to build some sort of device to hold a sail and simulate a
board.

Also would like to know what they actually cover in theory before taking
people on the water.
