Board rental in LA county

I am very interested in getting back onto the water, but can't put out the
cash for my own board now;  where is the best place to rent a sailboard in
Los Angeles county, or in San Diego, California?  Any recomendations for
places to go (lakes or beaches, etc).  Thanks in advance for any help.

If you don't mind sailing in Newport Bay (Newport Beach) there's
a place on 15th street that offers lessions and rentals. I personally
haven't rented there, but a roommate did last summer. I sail quite
a bit in Newport Bay. It's not great, but it's 50 yards from my
garage; can't beat a quick sail on a windy Saturday afternoon when
it only takes 10 minutes from impulse to water!

I'd think that someone would rent them on Alamitos Bay up in Naples,
but I didn't see anything the one time I went surfing up there.
Wind's much better in Alamitos/Seal Beach, BTW.

One shop used to rent boards on Alamitos Bay at one time, but I
think the liability risks / insurance costs got to them.  As far as
Seal Beach and Long Beach, though, the closest shop which rents out
boards is Long Beach Windsurf Center, on Ocean Blvd.  The cost is
getting pretty high, though, I think $50/day now :-(

I believe SailBoards West in San Pedro rents boards.  They also have a
bunch of good deals on used boards.  I don't have their number right now,
but information does.

Cabrillo Beach (aka Hurricane Gulch) is a good place to go windsurfing.  It
is in San Pedro right at the break water for Los Angeles harbor.

Rent equipement for all levels. Lessons available

        . Long Beach windsurfing center
Near Alamitos Bay (Naples) perfect for beginners, boring otherwise...
          # (310 or 213?)433-1014

        . Sport Limited
In the middle of the Valley (no nearby spot!), woodland hills
          # (818)346-3330
