Brian,
 while all of those boards you mentioned are great, they also are
all advanced boards. You are light, but I still dont think that you
would want any of them under your feet after you get tired of trying to
waterstart. The 8'9" might float you, but I dont think that it would be
all that stable. If you want a 'short board' and are learning to
waterstart, look at the boards that are over 9'6". there are even some
really good 10' boards with out daggers that are really light wind
slalom boards, but would have more than enough volume to keep someone of
your weight floating and stable enough to uphaul when the wind gets
light.
 My first shortboard was 9'10" and I got it when I was 15 and about 130
lbs (if I remember correctly). You'll be much happier with a board that
you can sail on while you are learning how to waterstart.
