Broke Fiberspar 490 Mast bottom, anyone broke a top?

Hi,

In 1998 gotta new Neil Pryde Racing Z1 8.3m sail with a Neil Pryde
Racing CK 95 PRO 490 Mast.  This is a 490CM IMCS 28 95% Carbon mast,
which people tell me was manufactured by Fiberspar, with the Neil
Pryde name on it.  It is the standard (large by today's language)
diameter mast, very thin walls, high reflex, 95% carbon.

The other day while downhauling, the base snapped about two feet above
the boom.  So I have a good top and am looking for someone who may
have a good bottom piece.

This sail is now 10 years old, and has a couple of stickers on it, but
it still works great.  And the Z1 8.3m is a great 4 camber race sail,
light touch, steady power, I sail it on my HiFly Madd 138 liter
board.  I had been thinking about upgrading to a brand new sail.
However, since the mast broke the whole rig is history, no point
buying a new mast for a 10 year old sail.  The only thing that could
work is locating someone with the mast base that I need.

So please post if you have it.

No worries, that new sail/mast combination is so close I can smell
it.  I can tell that I am going to be happy either way.

Stay in the lead,

Mac from Easy-Uphaul

that top will make a great shaft for a home made carbon stand up paddle
from over 20 years of windsurfing the bottoms always break first.
i would keep the long top and try it with a 460 bottom much eaiser to find.
Good luck
