Hi... I've been windsurfing here in BC for a while and have encountered
a rather frustrating problem... I typically go out in 20-30 knot wind
days with my HiFly 320 & 5.7 Speed Lite (that's all I have), and have a
great time trying to sail overpowered.. However, my problem is that very
frequently, my board tends to catch a bit of chop (2 ft, maybe) and
takeoff without me wanting it to. As a result, the board then catches
the wind and when it lands, it spins out really bad. It is really
frustrating having the board suddenly go sideways when you land.
Is there a good way to avoid spinouts like this? or am I using a board
that is too big or sail too small for the wind? (on 30+ knots -- occasional
stormy days, people think I may be crazy, but I have no choice :)
Thanks.
Calvin.
