Both of these are great boards. My husband was partial to the AHD and I
was in favor of the Carve, and we tried them both. He is 195 lbs and his
big sail is a 9.5 NP V8. I am 150ish lbs and used an 8.0 sail when I
tried both boards.
I liked the way the Carve handled, and it planed up quickly for me,
and turned beautifully. My husband happens to have all powerbox fins, so
he went with the AHD. Since I have 3 big boards already, all Tuttle box
fins, I went for a Carve 111.
I think the Starboard might be a bit less fragile than the AHD for the
