Poor NYC graduate student wants to start sailing again

Post by Sean Kell » Sat, 13 May 2000 04:00:00

Does anyone have a friend in the NYC area who bought a complete rig with the
intention of sailing, but has let it sit in their attic/garage/storage
gathering dust? I am looking for an AFFORDABLE (I am a POOR, starving
student type person ;> ) used, complete rig(I have nothing) to start sailing
again. It has been nearly 10 years and I am aching to sail again. I live in
the Rockaways, 1 1/2 blocks from the beach. The Rockaways are also notorious
for their "breezes".

My thanks for your assistance,
Sean Kelly

I happen to know that there will be at least one package like you are
looking for at the swap meet in Southampton this weekend... Windsurfing
Hamptons on the highway entering town.  631-283-9463.  A friend   placed
his used Bic Melody with rig etc. ready to go, and it's priced at $200.
Better get there early though, as packages tend to sell quickly.
