No crowds, by Maui standards. Quite possibly no wind. Definitely tsunami waves.
The tade winds peak in midsummer, die in winter. The waves peak in midwinter,
are comparatively nonexistent in summer. Whether El Nino adds another 20 feet
to the Jan waves remains to be seen, but it could finish off what little wind
usually blows in Jan.
Be prepared to play tourist and you'll still have a great time.
