That said, we ignored it and named our Leonburger "Thunder". When she's
concerned about something, the name is very appropriate. If lions could
bark, they'd sound like Leonburgers. Appropo, because Leos look like lions
with jet-black faces. Leos were developed from Newfies, Great Pyrennes,
and Saints a century and a half ago, and are beginning to join, sometimes
replace, Newfies as water rescue dogs in some areas. They have in some
cases required NO TRAINING to rescue even strangers in trouble in water.
Good luck with your Newfie. Our dog's personality stems strongly from
their Newfie ***, and that's good. They're both sweetheats.

blows in the south of france / north of spain out of the pyrannes and into
the med. sea?
