Hi,

Anyone sail a F2 Revolution board, 257 cm in length.  About 85 litres volume
I think.  The board is for sale, and it is about 3 years old.  If anyone has
any experience w/ this board and what sail range would be good on it let me
know.

I am 175 lb dry.  I sail a Obrienn Epoxy Lite 9.2, pretty thick board.  Need about 15 mph of wind w/ my 6.4 sail to get going.  I also sail it w/ my
5.5 meter sail.  I want something for the even smaller days.  A board that
is really fast, easy to jibe (since I can't do one yet), and will take a bit
of abuse (real small chop hops, sailing in Lake Michigan a couple times a
year)

Thanks!!
Tony

I think I know this board (in Oconomowoc) and it looks really low volume or
will act that way (very thin tail).  At your weight, it would require steady
5.0 conditions (much more wind than 5.0 on the other board).  Anything gusty
would become extremely frustrating.  This would restrict its use in
Milwaukee area, as most directions other than a strong NE are quite gusty.
Something with a little more volume (90 l) is what I find necessary to keep
planing on high wind days in our area.

Try the Tiga 263!!! I think with your weight and sails this may be a
better choice than the revoution.

Hi Tony,

Stay away from the revolution. I own one, and love it. But it is verry
hard to sail. It needs a lot off wind, the biggest sail I use is 5.0.
It also is made to be sailed in waves(big waves). Not for bump and jump
in chop.
As it is a pure waveboard, it is not fast at all. Well maybe sailing
down a big wave.
So as you are not jet a verry good sailer, don't buy the revolution.
You would do better with the axxis.

Just got mailer from Isthmus in Madison.  They have 91 Stinger for 549 free
shipping.  If you show up with dollar bills in your hand you may be able to
take it away for 475.  This is a good board for Milwaukee high wind
conditions (4.0 - 5.7 )

Thanks for the info, I'm not buying immediately however.  I probably won't get
too many 5.5 and under days when I am free to sail until fall.

Question:  Where is Isthmus?  I was in Madison sailing last Sunday (crappy
wind, no gusts, no planing) and tried to visit Flying Fish, but they were
closed, and from looking through the window, they didn't seem to carry much.

Thanks

Tony
