Hi Frank--
I'm running late for work so I need to keep this short. We have many
good sailing spots here in the Tampa Bay area. For each wind
direction there are different places to go. Best wavesailing in the
area would be at Ft. DeSoto Park, at St. Petersburg Beach, and at
Honeymoon Island. The best (only) shop in the area is Tackle Shack in
Pinellas Park (813) 546-5080 open 7 days a week. (M-Sat 9:30-8, Sun
11:30-5:30 last I checked). They're not on the water, but have a
great shop and can rent you gear. They can give you the best advice
too for windsurfing locations. For wind conditions by the Sunshine
Skyway bridge, call the windline at (813) 822-5836.
Have a great trip!
