"Windsurfing Magazine" (located here in Central Florida) is planning to
put up a windsurfing BBS/WEB Site on the Net.

What would you like to see?  Got any suggestions, comments, or questions?

i would like to see a www (world wide web) site that has one of those
image-map things of the world that would allow people to ``point-and-click''
on the map to get information about sailing sites (local shops, clubs,
directions, lodging, rentals, etc).  it would also have a mechanism for
allowing people to add information about their local sites.  (it might have
to have intermediate maps for some areas.)

for example:

i am traveling to rome, italy, for a conference.  i would like to know
if i have a chance to sail there in the evening or the weekends.  i could
connect to the www site and ``point-and-click'' on italy.  either another
map would come up and i could choose the rome area, or i would see information
about various locations in italy.

It would be nice to see a list of all the manufacturers of boards on a www. And
info on what type of boards they build, custom etc. It'll probably be a lot of
work to contact or get info on board producers, but I'd say worth it.
E.G the first HOLLOW contruction boards were designed and developed here in the
UK by AEGIR, the shaper is Tad Castaulla (or spelt something like that), he live
on Hayling Island until recently, when he move to  Tarifa in southern Spain.
Where the shaping and testing is done, but they're still manufactured here in
the UK. Info of this ilk would be useful. I guess you could ask people in
various countries if they'd gather info for you, I'd be happy to find out
what else is produced here in the UK. Board stats would be useful, along with
prices, that way we could see what country has best value for money.
Incidently Hayling Island (where I live) is where windsurfing was first invented
I know I know, it was America that started fun boarding, but it was the UK that
invented windsurfing............
