Hatteras Accommodations?

Post by Paul Rybarczy » Thu, 24 Aug 2000 12:17:17

Myself and three friends (from different parts of the
midwest) are trying to coordinate a fall Hatteras
trip. Some of us would like to drive and bring our
own equipment. Others would prefer to fly and rent gear.

We would like to find one place to stay that...

...is sound-front.
...has a nice launch and rigging area.
...is close (walking distance) to sound-front equipment rental.
...is available probably around late Oct or early Nov.
...not super expensive, since we are mainly there to windsurf.

We are thinking house/cabin rental here, not camping out.
Is there any one place that fits this picture?  Thanks
in advance for any opinions.

Get a Hatteras Reality book. I think they have a website where you can
ask for it. They got dozens of great places.

Paul,

Check out wwww.outerbeaches.com and do a search for property #095.
This is my father's house that he rents throughout the year down there,
It is sound front in Avon with a gravel boat/windsurf launch ramp, and
two blocks away from SailWorld, one of 4 large windsurfing shops on
Hatteras Island.  The prices are pretty reasonable off season and it is
pretty much wide open from Sept on....

Paul,

check out Hatteras Realty's web site, http://www.hatterasrealty.com.
Specifically there some houses in Island Creek that match your interests.  We
stayed in West Wind this year...highly recommend this house, great
accomodations, right on the sound and walking distance to Windsurfing Hatteras.

Good Luck,
