I'm having so much fun flooding this group with stupid questions, here's
another one.
Once upon a time I got the impression the Mistral Screamer was based to
some extent on the Starship. That could be a crock of shit. In any case,
my question is how much has board design in this class changed since I
picked up my 8'8" Starship in '89? I always loved this board (it has a
great story behind it), though I haven't sailed it for several years now.
I don't have any reason to think I would enjoy sailing it less today. But
I just bought a Seatrend 62 (along with a Windglider to teach my kids
on), and I'm in a re-vamp mode. Is there a compelling reason -- that is,
other than 1) supporting my local shop, and/or 2) not being like Jason --
for me to pick up a new board a step down in size from the 62? This is an
honest question. I've really been out of touch with the sport for quite a
while.
