I have been thinking about a new board for the Bay area. Yesterday
at Coyote I saw a board built by a "John Forsyth" from Redwood City.

Anybody know anything about these boards?

many thanks

John Forsyth has been in the Bay Area for a few years now.  His
nickname is "Doctor Ding".  In the past, I know he has done board
repairs.  In repairs he is the best,  fantastic is the word to
describe his skill.  I understand he worked with Dill in the Gorge for
years when they first started.  He began building boards down here last
year and  has been making epoxy sandwich boards since then.  Several of my
friends have bought boards from him, and so far they are very happy.

John is an excellent sailor and a really nice guy.  He does well in
local racing.  Randy Nelsen US-58 races his boards also.

Ask around at Coyote and you'll find John.  He'll let you test his
boards and will discuss what you need and build it special.  I've been
thinking of having one made myself but so far the $ stops me.

I believe he advertises as the "Ding King".  He once repaired an
epoxy board of mine that had delaminated due to heel pressure.  He is
a really nice guy, he did a good, honest repair job - charged me less
than he had quoted for the repair, and did it with a quick turn-around.

If you need a repair or new board (or sometimes even used boards), give
him a call at (415)365-3329.
