Please help! having strange tech difficulty

I use Netscape to veiw Newsgroups, I suscribe to the only Newsgroup that
counts, rec.windsurfing.  the problem is that it constantly shows that I
have read all messages even the ones I have not read.  This drives me
nuts since I have to load all the messages and scroll throught them all
so that I can try to figure out which messages are new.
What do I do?

P.S. swell came up yesterday and was 6-10 ft faces, but light wind which
made for killer surfing. Today was 4-6ft and glassy at Ho'okipa.
Hopefully the wind will come back!

Two low-tech solutions.
1-Get a share-ware version of  a newsgroup reader like "freeagent".  I
find it MUCH quicker than Netscape, and it allws me to organize
threads.

2-Delte messages that you've read or that you're not interested in
after  every session.  that way when you update your newsgroup, you
know, by definition that all the messages are unread.
