help: chinook compatible mastfoot for veloce needed

Post by Robert Palme » Fri, 08 May 1998 04:00:00

ive just bought a 1995 veloce 328. it is a mastfoot that goes into a special
slot on the masttrack. the cup is the standard cup that slides into a mast
or extension that is the same diameter as a mast.

all my equipment is chinook compatible. i need a mastfoot for the veloce that
has a chinook style cup to fit into the neil pryde/fibrespar base extensions.

any suggestions. anyone know where i can buy one or how i can fix the standard
mastfoot to fit?

thanks

Every shop which carries Bic and Chinook should be able to fix a Chinook
cup onto a *** joint (or tendon or cardan if you prefer) with a Bic
pin at the base.
If your current Bic Mastfoot isn't corroded or glued together too badly,
you could also just buy another Chinook cup and fix it yourself
(heat helps for dissasembling, Loctite or similar screw-securing goob
 is a must for assembling)

Robert:
You might want to check out the Euro Pin Tendon Joint from Murrays Marine.
I'm not sure, but I think it will fit the Bic mastrack car. This joint is
about the lowest on the market, uses the nearly bombproof Streamlined
Tendon joint, and is easily adaptable to nearly any base cup.
I know it fits the Mistrals and is an excellent replacement/upgrade for the
red tendon Mistral joints as it ti both lower and far stronger/reliable.
Check out

There's a nice photo so you can see what you'd be getting.
