Margarita sailing trip packages?

Margarita sailing trip packages?

Post by Allan MacKinno » Wed, 18 Feb 1998 04:00:00

Does anyone know of any good vacation packages to Margarita?

I'm an intermediate level sailor (1 summer on shortboard) in
the Boston area and am looking to get some sailing in before
Spring.

Any tips would be appreciated!  Thanks,

Allan

Allan:

check out Vela at (800) 223-5443 or  (650) 373-1100 or go to their home page

   http://www.velawindsurf.com

I have rented from them several times. Let me tell you: you won't find anything
better. This is the classiest outfit in windsurfdom. If you mean April by
"before spring", be prepared for high winds!!

Check with Casa Viento. ( 800 660-WIND) They can set you up with equipment and
a nice room, they also have a travel agent who can arrange your flights. The
guy who owns Casa Viento is an American, he'll make you feel right at home,
especially if you are travelling alone.

If you go with friends, my townhouse is a really good deal.  March price is
$435 per person/per week,  April price is $385/week per person, based on quad
occupancy.  Includes 2 bedroom 2 bath townhouse, airport transfers, maid
service, AND equipment at the Caribe Winds BIC center.  Of course, you'll have
to find 3 friends to go with you.

There is a charter from New York, and also from Montreal.  If you are flexible,
you can get some great airfares if you book at the last minute on those
Canadian charters.

It's really windy right now, my property manager was overpowered yesterday on
a 4.0 sail, this past week it has been blowing 25 - 30 knots.  Wish I  was
there!
