I just acquired a structurally sound but very ugly epoxy/carbon board. I
have two general questions:

1) The folks I got the board from recomended enamel spray paint. Does
anyone have opinions on this?

2) I want to put a vent in it so I can leave it in my car. Can I use
generic 5-minute epoxy to seal around the vent and fix little dings?

Anything else I should know about the care and feeding of this type of
board besides keeping it off the rocks?

I did it last summer on a repair I made and it worked fine.

I would sand some of the old paint off so you don't add so much weight
with the new paint.  I did that when I painted the bottom of my Velocity and
it worked great.

BTW.  Look at pg 40 of this month's Windsurfing - I am in the middle of
the shot carrying my Velocity (white with hot pink stripes)).  Maybe next
year I will be good enough to be in a mag while on the water!  Also, it
shows my KaBoom which is rare since it only lasted for about 6 sailing
sessions.

I was told by the owner of CFX (local shaper) that this didn't matter
unless you drive up to high altitude.  I open the vent on mine anyway...

Get a lock.  I had my beat-up old epoxy board stolen off my car last
fall from in front of my house.  I don't think the thieves were even
windsurfers, they just saw easy pickings.
