Maybe it's just me, but does it look to anyone else like that guys board is
sinking?

Looks like it's getting sucked up the face, as will it's rider most likely, unless he's
holding onto a rock 20 feet down or so.  Hope that's the last wave in the set and his
jetski buddy is quick.

The guy with the red board is in a world of hurt!!!
I think Luke is just sinking his tail going into a bottom turn after
making the drop. He should have plenty of speed to get back up the face.
The angle of the camera and depth of field makes the lip look closer to
Luke than it is.
I haven't sailed Jaws, but I have been out in over mast high waves twice
in the last 2 weeks ,and I can tell you that the wind gets weird when it
is blocked out by the wave when you are bottom turning down in the
trough. Sometimes you are going on the momentum of the drop until you
get back up the face and into the wind again.
