Sail purchase advice (my second sail)

I just started sailing this spring and for my first board and rig I got an
O'Brien Elite with the 5.7 RAF sail that came with it (460cm epoxy mast and
a Chinook boom of similar quality and vintage).  I plan on replacing
everything  with  newer stuff eventually, but for right now,  I've come to
the conclusion that one purchase I must make is a bigger sail.  I figure
around a 6.8-7.0 - the 5.7 was fine to begin with but I'm not sure I've seen
a true 5.7 day, yet.   I live in central ***ia, so I do some lake
sailing, some at the Chesapeake Bay and Hampton Roads area, and I hope to
make several Outer Banks trips a year.    I'm 5,10, 150 lbs, am comfortable
with tacking, slow jybes, beachstarting, and have completed 3 waterstarts. I
have very little harness experience and have never been in the straps.

So, my question is,  what sail should I get?  What sail(s) would be bad to
get?    I want to buy a current design so that it won't be obsolete by the
time I update my other gear, but my concern is buying a newer design that
does not work well with my current equipment.  About $250 is what I want to

My local shop is two hours away, and I guess I will be buying used, so any
advice I can get here would be very much appreciated!
