Which place are you renting gear from?

Right next door. As if there were so many places to choose from!  8-)
Stu Snodgrass will be there too. We're going to be at Elvis's place.
My tickets arrived yesterday. 3 weeks and counting...

KC: are you out there? If so, please come by and find us and we can have
a beach reunion.

OK Ellen, stay out of the Nudist area next door.  I once blew a jibe
out by the platform when I looked up and was staring down at two
frontal floatation devices or mammeries as they were bouncing up and
down...It's only waist deep out there.  Fortunately I did not fall in
face first or anything like that.

Are you taking a board or sailing their stuff and if so what will you
sail?  I was crestfallen to spend the week on Tiga 281 due to lighter
winds that never got above 17 mph except for a brief ripping storm.  Oh
how I would like to have a week there with the 155!!!!!

Say hello to the Jibe City crew (Ernst?)for me as well.

Charles,
Now that you've exposed my retro wrinkles and potential wide
shortboarder status, you can be sure I will be very careful of any
nudist areas. As long as my suit doesn't fall off as I sail by the place
(and it hasn't yet on previous trips), I think I will be okay.
As for gear, my idea of a vacation is not working. And lugging gear to
and from and through airports sounds a lot like work, so I am renting
gear from Elvis, which I presume will be Mistral and Protech boards, and
Naish sails. I'm also one of those people who will attempt to sail
whatever you put in front of me, for comparison, for challenge, for
convenience. (Thankfully, no one has presented me with a door as yet.) I
know that 99.9% of modern boards will sail more than acceptably well so
the challenge is to find out what I need to do to make it go, turn, etc.
Besides, the closer part of Lac Bay is not comfortably deep enough for
the fins of a Formula 155. It will be treat enough to sail on water that
is liquid, and not solid, and where shovelling white stuff refers to
sand on the beach.
There will be 3 or 4 of us from rec.ws so please feel free to come
down and join us.

If I make it into Hatteras this spring, I will have to bring the Starboard
GO "lookalike" (use that term very loosely!) that my father-in-law made
for you to give a try ;-)

To try and picture it, think of a door without any non-skid on it!

Steve.

So how was it down in Baja?  Need a vicarious wind-fix.

Cold and windless on the East Coast.

Well, that does sound like a challenge! But, I'll give anything a try.

Baja was great!  Lot's of good 5.0-5.7 days of warm water, warm wind and
cold beer in La Ventana!  I'm heading back next week and then again in
Feb. Baja (La Venatan)is a great fairly inexpensive warm trip.  All of
the "resorts" have it dialed in.  There has not been much of the True
Big El Nortes but hey it better than no sailing. By the way We are
starting another run of the rec.windsurfing products so if you missed
the first round  now's your chance.  We are looking at a week and a half
ship date.  Deb

Thanks for the report, Deb!

Are the new Baja pix on your site from your current trip?  Wow, 5.0-5.7 with those waves
sounds just about ideal.  I guess you could ask for a little bigger waves if you wanted to
be picky.  Here on the east coast the only sailing I've been getting is in the parking lot
on the trusty skateboard.   I assume the Simmer sail rider is your hubby.  Looks like he
was killin' it.  Particularly liked the aerial off the lip and spray throwing shots.

Happy product testing.
