North Spectro vs Pyro 7.5 - Power

North Spectro vs Pyro 7.5 - Power

I am going to get a 7.5 m sail. It will be my largest sail, so it has to
get me planing early. Has anybody compared the early planing of the Pyro
7.5 to the Spectro 7.5? Is this difference almost not detectable? I
realize the top end of the Spectro would be better.

Thanks,
Steve.

Does it have to be one of those two?  There are sails with more low end.

Steve:
The compromise is not that easy.
The Spectro cn perhaps be pumped onto a plane nearly as early as the Pyro,
but the Pyro is very drafty, the Specro is less so.
The Specro wil have better top end speed, and a greater range, as the extra

cam really helps stabilize the Spectro.
You can keep on downhauling the Spectro and get more range without the top
of the sail breaking up like an over downhauled Pyro.
Hope this helps!
