fin position

fin position

More than once I have read about placing the leading
edge of the fin at the end of rear foot strape to
optimize "fin riding" ability.  How does this concept
apply to race board, for example on a Equipe which is
more than 12'.  What will the optimal fin position
for a long race board as such be during planning
condition?

I may add that the only way to have the fin leading
edge aligned with the end of strape is to move the
strape to the very end of the board which I rarely
do due to the thin tail profile.

Is this one of the may "tuning" tips apllies only
to slalom board but not to long race board?
