Help Wanted Rigging Hot AWOL 2x2?

Earlier this summer I purchased 2, 95' Hot AWOL 2x2 sails, a 5.0 and 6.0.
As per the required masts I purchased a Fiberspar 3000 430 IMCS 21 and a
Neil Pryde Carbon 30 460 25 IMCS. I have found both sails difficult to
rig, with the 6.0, I typically get a huge draft pocket with wrinkles in
the draft towards the bottom of the sail. If I downhaul the sail more at
this point (just as the second batten from the top moves away from the
mast) the leach becomes very loose (8 - 14" of loose leach). The cams
typically feel welded to the mast and require a good pop to flip them
(especially annoying when waterstarting). The 5.0 rigs similar but not
nearly as bad. Is it possible the Neil Pryde mast is much stiffer than 25
IMCS ? Do these sails need much softer masts than indicated on the sails ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated !

I use the 25mcs mast with a 4.5 awol.  I have no problems and I think it
is the best sail for ocean conditions.  Open, floppy leach poses no
problems.  Rig so that the leach opens to the second or third batten, and
apply a bit of outhaul.  The outhaul is vital to pull that big draft
pocket out of the front!
