F2 Sputnik Slalom

Hi

I'm posting from South Africa.

I've heard that the Sputnik range is available in my country at a very competitive price.
I'm not an avid magazine reader, so I wouldn't mind some feedback/advice on how good
these boards are.

My primary concern is top end speed.
I'm looking for a board that I can really burn on. Light wind performance is not that important.
I just want to fly, mainly doing far out ocean sailing in high winds.
My previous slalom board was an 8'8'' slalom, and I still want a short board. I want to feel the bouncing
as I sail. Jumping/jibing is irrelevant since I already have a wave board for that.

Thanks
-LAZman

Sputniks are indeed fast! You heard right on that part.
They are also a little on the fragile side. They are not for jumping
or big chop if you want them to last very long. I own 3 and each,
in it's wind range, is very fast, rarely passed. I mostly sail the 280 and
265 I have in the sounds at Cape Hatteras in fairly flat water. I use my
258 Axis for Bump and Jump. I have a 93 270 stashed out in California
and it is probably the fastest non-no-nose board I've ever sailed.

Hi!
Markus H. is right, I tried the Sputnik 270, it`s incredible fast and has good
handling.
There are two versions (PTE and WCE) I think the first has about 1 kg
less weight. BTW: This years world speed championship for production boards
was won on a 270!
