URGENT : sailing in Sydney ?

Post by chri » Sat, 30 May 1998 04:00:00

Hello australian fellows !

I need your help : I have a job opportunity in Sydney, and I am looking
for information for windsurfing in this place (average windy days per
year, number of spots, level required, ...).

In fact the question is : is it possible to windsurf often in Sydney, or
am I doomed to learn surf ? (I will do anyway !)

Thank you by advance (if you have other information about Sydney, please
let me know !)
Regards,

Christophe

If you had to have one board and sail for Syd. it would be a 280 and a 6.5.

Winter: 15-30kn offshore westerlies  1 to2 days /week ,maybe
Spring:15-25kn north and south easterlies 1 to 3 days/week, for sure
Summer:see spring
Autumn: take up surfing

Access to sail spots is easy and within 20 minutes of city centre for the
best southside spots on Botany Bay
Four retailers all stock plenty of gear new and used.
