> IN my search for wind in the Carrabeans in August, I've found that Cabarete (Dominican

> 1) The conditions in Cabarete: wind, flat, shallow water?
Flat? Not neccessarily, though I here it is in the summer.
The bay (inside) area is flatter than the reef, the reef kicks up some awsomely
beautiful waves. ;)
> 2) the studios in l'Albatros (the cheapest VELA accomodation)
Highly recomended, a little off on the quieter west side of town.
> 3) VELA's rental equipment
Top notch, best in cabarete. Even more so, their instruction was excellent
when I was there - free clinics every day, before noon.
> 4) Things to do around Cabarete.
Lot's of great rides.
Sure, bring me back some of their coffee, it's the best!
