by Jason Polakow wins Aloha Classic in 10 foot waves and light wind over
long-time Hookipa regular Dave Kalama. This victory moves Polokow to the
top spot in the PWA windsurfing wave ranking for the second year in a row.
The big story is Bjorn Dunkerbeck ultra narrow win over american Kevin
Pritchard for the PWA Over All Championship. Just a few points out of
over 4,000 separate them in the overall standings.
On the womens front Colette Guadadnino from Venezuela, the hot new 18
year old woman sailor jammed through the draw at the Aloha Classic. She
advanced twice and made it to the round of 8 winning in a convincing
manner her last heat. This just before the contest was called for lack
of time/wind. Colette is sponsored by Puerto Rico's Velauno windsurfing
shop and Margaritas Windsurf Paradise hotels.
