Does anyone have any coments (good or bad) on this winter sailing site?
We're planning a trip and see that CKirk's
http://ww00.imall.com/stores/captainkirk/
offers packages down there, any others?

Looking for options to stay and rent gear, take lessons etc.

Thanks!

I camped on Kirk's site for a week last winter and I would highly

that's because I was there during the less consistent days of December.
I just got a flier in the mail from him and he's offering a good
discount for Nov 15 to Dec something, I think it's about 30% cheaper.
Once your out at the site you'll have almost zero expenses. I lived
like a king on about $10 a day (including beer). You walk up to Paunchos
for a great Mexican breakfast, and watch the wind line march across the
bay til it turns on at about 11AM. The campsites are perfect! You have a
sweeping view of the mountains, bay, island, and desert. With lots of
company from the local hummingbirds sipping on the suguaro cactus. You
come to realize how "alive" the desert really is.
You ask about other windsurfing venues? I heard that Mr. Bill was
looking at La Ventana, and has purchased some land. But I don't think
he'll be set up this winter. Other rentals? Nope
One year I stayed at the hotel of my choice and just had Kirk pick me
up wherever I wanted in La Paz. It's a little more costly, but then you
can party in one of my favorite Mexican towns, sail all afternoon and
then get dropped off in time for dinner.
I've never stayed at the "shred palace"/ B&B. Seems like a place where
you talk windsurfing (and only windsurfing) all night.

Cpt.Kirk has an ok operation. Do not expect Vela, by any means. It is best
to bring your own sails and masts and booms. Just rent boards from him. He
runs out of sails under 5.0 real quick and he and his 'helpers' save the
best equipment for themselves when the conditions are good. Other than
that, his prices are good and he is the only 'game' in Camp. For now
anyways.
