What happened to Downwind

Does anyone know what happened the system Downwind that has the weather
data on it?  It has been dead for about a week now.

Probably too many wind junkies logging on at once caused
the host to crash!  Just kidding, I've been having the
same problem getting thru to downwind.sprl.umich.edu.
Hope its fixed soon.  Downwind is usually pretty accurate,
although last weekend it was TOTALLY wrong, calling for
15-25 NE, we actually had SE, about 5-10 :^( oh well.
The best part is getting the "nearshore" conditions
which gives bouy reports :^)  Hope it's fixed soon.  Matt

Try alternate path "telnet madlab.sprl.umich.edu 3000".  Every time I
find downwind down, madlab is up.  Or if you have gopher or xgopher,
do "(x)gopher wx.atmos.uiuc.edu 70".  They now have all(?) the data
that umich does, look under "States" for marine forecasts.  Images
too!

From the umich header:

*                                                                             *
*   Downwind is experiencing some hardware problems and may not always be     *
*   accessable and/or up to date for the next few days.                       *
*

I've got lots of data, all I need is a little GOOD data, damnit.

The same system is up and running at measun.nrrc.ncsu.edu 3000

I haven't seen downwind so I can't compare the quality but it's the same
program and the data I've been getting has be pretty good.

'Downwind' has been experiencing disk problems since last week, and may
now be down totally from what I can see.
The 'downwind' weather programs have been moved to 'madlab.sprl.umich.edu'
for the time-being.

Could someone please post the IP # for this address.  I tried telnet
with no luck (probably not on my host list) and nslookup timed me
out.  Thanks..
