Natl. Geographic - Jan 99 Issue - Climbing Articles

Post by Bob Broeki » Sun, 03 Jan 1999 04:00:00

There are two articles that may be of interest to climbers in Jan 99's
issue of Natl. Geographic.  The first article is written by Greg Child
on his groups first ascent on Baffin Island.

The second article is a look at the Popocatepetl volcano in Mexico and
its surrounding inhabitants.  The article focuses on what would happen
if there is a full scale eruption.  FYI.

Gordon Whiltsie snaps some truly remarkable pics....again. Alex Lowe was
on one of the morning news shows last week re. Great Sail Peak. Can't
wait for the TV feature.

Who was it that was saying no one's doing anything daring and leading
edge?
