Long Beach/LA climbing

I'm going to be in Long Beach, CA from this Saturday for two weeks.  I'm
hoping to get out to JTree for a weekend, but I'd love to climb some
if I get a free afternoon.

What is there around LA, and preferable on the Long Beach side?  Any good
beach bouldering, or even some hot underpass spots?

My first time in LA, so if you have non-climbing suggestions, I'll try
almost anything twice.

Yes.  It'll only be roughly 7 hours drive for the 400+ mi trip to the
site of the rock, which is located about an hour's drive North of
SAN FRANCISCO!  If you leave LA in the morning you'll get there to do
some decent climbing (if you're into 5.12's and 5.13's) and watch the
sunset.

However, you'll miss out on Mickey's Beach crack, which dropped off a
few months ago (hey, there's even some NEW route potential).

P.S.: Phil I hope you're going to LA because you're forced to.  It's
got to be one of the ugliest cities around (in every aspect of UGLY)!

Bad news, Mickeys Beach is about 600 miles from LA. Also,
unless you climb at least 5.12, Mickeys Beach is extremely
limited. Just some additional info.
