Prism Fanatic vs. Prism Eclipse

Prism Fanatic vs. Prism Eclipse

IMHO an Eclipse would be a nice addition to your bag. Picked one up last
year when they were being closed out, and although we have an Elixir,
Illusion and most of the other Prism kites I still have to fight with my
girl friend and my son for use of the Eclipse. It may be an 'older kite' but
there are plenty of tricks left in it :o)

Prism Fanatic vs. Prism Eclipse

Hi Nadds,

I missed the original post, but I do have the Eclipse & Fanatic. My
first was the Fanatic- I borrowed a friend's one a couple of summers ago
and, within 15 seconds knew what kite I'd be buying before the next
weekend. The Fanatic is tough, versatile, user-friendly and very
trickable. One of the best choices for a serious first trick kite, IMO.

I'm still getting to know the Eclipse, as I got it much more recently.
My intitial reaction is it is more refined than the Fanatic, more
graceful. It leans more to the ballet end of trick kiting, though it is
no slouch at freestyle. I like its shape better than the Fanatic, but
that's just my bias- I like the look of higher aspect kites and
scalloped wings.

I'd say- get both, but get the Fanatic first, if you're looking for a
kite that wants to entertain you. After you've learned some tricks on
the Fanatic, polish them to a fine shine on the Eclipse.

Steve -who still has much buffing to do. ;>)

ps, to reduce spam, I've left the .com off the end of my address.

Buy the Eclipse also. The kite flies, and feels different than the other two
kites. You will find this will suit different moods you are in when flying,
or if you get frustrated with a kite it is a good time to switch.
I tend to fly the Jam in higher winds, the Fanatic when I want rapid fire
maneuvers or it is a substandard flying field  (I would don't feel as badly
if I damage a Fanatic sail), and have found the Eclipse does most of what an
Elixir will do (the Fanatic does everything the Elixir will except have a 7
foot wingspan ;^)
