I wonder if anyone reads this NG anymore?!?! Thought I'd post this anyway...it
was nice.  Bob Childs

LETS`S FLY OUR KITE
        -------------------

        Look up there!
         Each one floats
          Tumbling slowly and lifting
           Soft as a prayer,
            Far above the trees.
Lunging at this and that cloud,
              Yet seemingly with ease.
Oh how I wish I was there
Under the eye of the sun
Rolling - it must be fun.
Keep hold! - it starts to soar
                   Immeasurably once more.
                    Take in the slack
Each time, to bring it back.

Actually, yes. But everyone is so concerned about a few old timers leaving, they
forget that there is a constant supply of NEWCOMERS.

We check in here reading what we can to learn more about the sport/hobby. What
we see is an exodus of experienced kiters leaving because one of their own has
become destructively insane. So some of us think about moving on as well.

I thoroughly enjoy the free-for-all nature of USENET, and I thoroughly enjoy a
good controversial thread. I don't enjoy infantile behavior...so I just kill
file those I don't enjoy.

Don't you people know what kill files are for? Kill file him, and get on with
it. If you want to leave, don't let the door hit you in the ass. If you want to
stay, make it worthwhile. If you want to spend your time whining about Roger
Maddy and his anti-social behavior, three clicks and you are in my kill file
along side him  until NO ONE is left.

Then I'll fly my kites alone, and pass on the "social" aspects of the sport. I'm
beginning to wonder if they are worth it.

Eric
