Best thing to do is go to a kite festival and talk to some of the flyers and
traders.

There is an outfit in Brixham, who may be able to help

they seem to be mainly into power kite stuff, but worth a visit
whatever your interests.

Mission Adventuresport

address & stuff here

http://SportToday.org/

also you will find a link to some local flying sites, where you stand
a good chance of meeting some "old hands"

The Paignton WindFest on Octover 2nd and 3rd looks like a good thing to go
to - see
   http://www.bbc.co.uk/devon/going_out/2004/windfest.shtml
Mission Adventuresport in Brixham is also worth a visit.

My own interest is kite aerial photography (so the kites I use are single
line stable things like FlowForms) but I'm the area (Totnes). See
   http://www.zenonic.demon.co.uk/kapstuff
if you're interested.
