The Festival will be located on the beach at the end of Laneda avenue. Come
join use for some real fun.
This the second running of what I hope will turn into one of the premier
events in the area. The are several improvements made this year. First we
have sponsorship from the city's merchant association, they are very happy
to have us and want to do some sort of hospitably event to make us feel
welcome. Secondly the much requested portable toilets will be installed just
1 block from the event. Again we have a beach permit to allow to drive and
drop off/pick up our kites. The Local Paper will be covering the event.
This will be a non-competitive event. I'm trying to plan a "Best of Show -
Spectators choice award", A Rokkoku Battle (Ronda is bringing the kites),
Kids Events(kite making & a Candy drop) & and various demo, but it is
a excuse have fun at the beach flying kites. We will even feasting on hot
dogs and Soda.
I hope we can put on a show that will stop traffic on 101!
Manzanita is a hidden treasure right near Nehalem Bay State Park,
six***-miles south of Cannon Beach along Highway 101. This small town has a
terrific almost endless beach perfect for kites, frequented by beach
combers, kite flyers, kite surfers...etc, but no kite festival until now.
Bring you Kites, Fighters, Buggies, Boards...etc to the big, big beach to
have a good time.
Hope to see you there
