Festival, will be held at Kings Beach, Port Elizabeth, at Easter (2-4
April).
The Splash Festival is at present the biggest water based festival in
South Africa. It started a few years ago and has now grown to the
point where events will now take place along the entire Port Elizabeth
beachfront, from Summerstrand to King's Beach.
Kiting has been a small, but integral part of the Splash Festival
since its inception. We participated and flew kites at Hobie Beach
each year, with more interest and participation each year, until we
outgrew the available space in 1998.
In 1999 we will be at King's Beach for the second year running, where
we will hold the first National Kite Festival, organised by the East
Cape Kite Flyers (ECKF) on behalf of the South African Kite Flyer's
Association (SAKFA) to be held in Port Elizabeth. Participants from
around the country will put on a kite display as yet not seen in the
Eastern Cape.
